In Bèziers, France, there is a modular theater and restaurant with an open-air amphitheater that resembles a circus tent.
It is the work of the French architecture firm K ARCHITECTURES, who designed the project inspired by circus architecture. Just like a circus camp, the Domaine de Bayssan is modular and can be reconfigured according to the cultural program and events.
Outside the architectural complex there are also some benches from our Cobra Curved Bench Collection. The wooden slats of the Cobra benches integrate perfectly with the characteristic wood cladding of the rooms.
The true/deep origins of the Domain de Bayssan still remain a mistery, historical findings prove the presence of the first inhabitants as early as the Neolitic. Its toponimy recalls the Gauls-Roman period, that had strongly contributed to the identity of the french city of Beziers. Today, it’s a free cultural place and hosts one of the main theatre of Beziers area of southern France.
