City of Sion
Due to the increasing damage caused by climate change and its location between two mountain ranges, the Municipality of Sion decided to be more proactive than proactive. They designed a new urban plan taking into account climate change adaptation measures and the need for more green areas. This ambitious project also includes the redevelopment of the Energypolis campus road.
Metalco has provided nearly sixty large, multifunctional green modules that will invite campus stakeholders and residents of the first renovations to test, experiment and, if necessary, adapt these malleable, vegetated structures.
This project was born for the city of Sion and Metalco has embraced this vision, in line with our mission, by developing these modules that combine planters and seating, which are called “CITY OF SION”.
The city of Sion, located in Switzerland and more precisely in the Canton of Valais, has approximately 35,000 inhabitants.
This historic and fascinating Swiss town rests on over 8,000 years of history, so much so that the oldest trace of human settlement dates back to 6200 BC.
An iconic city thanks to the two castles located on the respective peaks of the two hills of the city, that of Valère and that of Tourbillon.
