In Dorgali, a wonderful municipality in the heart of Sardinia where the Sardinian artisan tradition is still strong, the replacement of an obsolete bus shelter has become the opportunity to create a real work of architecture. The project was realized thanks to the close collaboration between Davide Fancello – a talented Italian designer – the local administration and the local artisans of BAM. The shelter is a regular structure in corten and wood and is placed on the edge of a slope overlooking the valley: it acts as a real veranda and establishes a visual dialogue between the road, the community and the landscape. Cabinedda becomes a place to promote sociality while waiting in a new place of informal quality, where things can happen.
