Location: Nîmes | France
Year: 2017
Project: Public Transit Station In partnership with Mobil Concepts for Nimes Metropole
Designer: by Egis Buro
The project to extend the BHNS North line (rapid transit bus) included the installation of 6 stops with steel shelters in Nîmes.
Each shelter is characterized by large windows and false ceilings with wooden slats, and has been designed to provide users with perch seats and benches. Furthermore, in order to provide an additional service, the design includes the possibility to equip the structure with automatic ticket dispensers.
The project was carried out with the utmost respect for the architectural context, characterized by the presence of monuments from ancient Rome and contemporary works such as the Carrè d’Art by Norman Foster. For this reason, the shelters have been made in black, in order to enhance the unique character of the city.
