DORGALI (NUORO) ITALY

CABINEDDA INCORNICIANDO IL PAESAGGIO | DORGALI ITALY

In Dorgali, a wonderful municipality at the heart of Sardinia, where the Sardinian artisan tradition is still strong, the replacement of an obsolete bus shelter, had been the occasion to realize a real piece of architecture.

The project had been realized thanks to the close collaboration between Davide Fancello – an Italian talented designer – the local administration, and the local craftsmen of BAM.

The shelter is a regular structure made in corten and wood and is placed at the edge of an escarpment overlooking the valley: it serves as a real mirador and establishes a visual dialogue between the road, the community, and the landscape.

Cabinedda becomes a place to promote sociability while waiting in a new place of informal quality, where things can happen.
