The International Jury of the XXII ADI Compasso d’Oro Award awarded the product:

Palus - design: Antonio Citterio with Toan Nguyen

the ADI COMPASSO d’ORO HONOURABLE MENTION

The 2011 Compasso d’Oro awards were held on the 12th July at MACRO in Rome, at the Pelanda in the Testaccio.
The speakers were Secretary to the Council of Ministers Gianni Letta, under-secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development Catia Polidori, president of the CNEL Antonio Marzano, Director General of the Fondazione Valore Italia Umberto Croppi and Dean of the School of Design at the Politecnico di Milano Arturo Dell'Acqua Bellavitis.

After the introductory speeches (in particular Gianni Letta who pointed out that “it is heartening to see this initiative that celebrates fifty years of creative Italian success”) the awards were presented together with Luisa Bocchietto, national president of the ADI; Giovanni Cutolo, president of the Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso d’Oro; and  Massimo Arlechino, president of the Fondazione Valore Italia (which organises, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the Unicità d’Italia events, of which the XXII Compasso d’Oro exhibitions are part); and with the presidents of the ADI Territorial Delegations. (contines…)

The International Jury of the XXII Compasso d’Oro gave an Honourable Mention to the PALUS.

The “Palus” system was born from the need to create a modular, versatile and customisable family of street furniture products.

In detail it is made from a cast aluminium post (UNI 7396/3) in a “Z” shape, into which niches are carved to allow multi-use elements to be added. In this way the post, in its standard option, is a bollard which can take on different functions: with the addition of two curved pieces it becomes a bike rack; with the addition of a cylindrical piece it becomes a litter bin; and finally if you wish to create a barrier, you can simply add four horizontal pieces to the bollards.

Ground fixing is either with a base plate or by concreting-in 4 threaded screws inserted into the cast post itself, with everything else hidden. This product satisfies many requests from municipalities and councils that can change the look of your street furniture, without the need to replace pre-existing installations. A versatile product is guaranteed, from dynamic street furniture.
